ForevrGuitar sustainer · notes that ring for as long as you want
The only guitar sustainer you'll ever need for notes that sing for ever.
Every note you play held up at full level for as long as you let it ring, following your bends and vibrato, with a feedback tone blooming in under it, as in front of a loud amp. Mute the strings and it stops at once. Zero latency, level-matched, made for DI guitar.

Hear the difference
The same DI guitar, without and with Forevr.
A DI lead that holds and sings
A dry DI guitar lead with long notes · Singing Sustain (SUSTAIN 70 %, FEEDBACK 40 %, MIX)
A clean, slow lead held for ever
A clean octave lead note, played three times · Lead / Infinite Lines (SUSTAIN 100 %, ROOT)
A rock lead feeding back
A dry distorted rock solo · Howl / Studio Floor (FEEDBACK 70 %, HIGH, DRIVE 60 %)
Compressor sustain on a DI lead
A sparse baritone DI lead · Clean / Comp Sustain (SUSTAIN 55 %, FEEDBACK 0)
Slow feedback swells over a held note
A clean held lead note with vibrato, played four times · Howl / Fake Swell (FEEDBACK 90 %, BLOOM 3 s)
Every clip is level-matched, so the difference you hear is tone, not volume.
Forevr in action
Why Forevr
Notes that never die
SUSTAIN holds the note you are playing up at full level as the string decays, from a little more ring to infinite sustain, and follows your bends and vibrato all the way.
Feedback on demand
A feedback tone tuned to the note, its octave or its high overtone blooms in under every held note, the sound of a guitar feeding back in front of a loud amp, at any volume.
Stops when you do
Put a hand on the strings and the note and the tone stop within milliseconds. HOLD, or any MIDI note, keeps a note ringing for as long as you hold it.
Sustain. Feedback.
Two big knobs do the work: how long every note holds, and how much feedback blooms in under it.

The guitar sustainer plugin
- Infinite sustain. From a little more ring to a note that never dies.
- Feedback on demand. ROOT, MIX (octave) or HIGH, swelling in after every pick.
- HOLD. A key, or any MIDI note, keeps the note ringing until you let go.
- Zero latency. Play through it live; level-matched at every setting.
- SUSTAIN (up to 48 dB of hold, to infinite) and FEEDBACK (the tone, up to as loud as the note).
- HARMONIC (ROOT, MIX, HIGH), BLOOM (0.2 to 4 s), DRIVE and HOLD.
- MIX, IN and OUT with meters, and ENGAGE.
- 12 factory presets and your own preset files; A/B, undo and redo, MIDI Learn on every control; a window from 75 to 200 %; the full manual.
HOLD
Hold it. For ever.
Press HOLD, or play any MIDI note, and the note and its feedback ring until you let go.
What Forevr does
Every control has one job: the endless, singing note, faster.
SUSTAIN
From longer to for ever
How far the hold may bring a dying note back up, up to 48 dB, and how fast it lets go itself: a long, even hold at the default 70 %, infinite sustain at 100 %. LONGER, LONG HOLD or INFINITE under the knob.
FEEDBACK
A tone that blooms in
The feedback tone's level, from nothing to as loud as the note. It follows the held note's pitch, bends and vibrato included, and swells in after every pick.
HARMONIC
Three kinds of feedback
ROOT, the note itself; MIX, the note and its octave; HIGH, the octave and the twelfth, the screaming overtone. The three modes of a sustainer pickup.
BLOOM
How slowly it swells
0.2 to 4 s after each new note, 1 s by default: fast lines keep the tone low, held notes let it rise.
DRIVE
An amp's grit
Drive on the held note and the tone together, from CLEAN to DRIVEN, level-matched. At 0 it is switched off, ready for your own amp sim.
HOLD
A note that never lets go
A momentary key, or any MIDI note: hold it and the note and its tone ring on with the strings silent, until you let go. Never saved in a preset or a session.
Mute to stop
Your hand still works
A hand on the strings stops the hold and the tone within milliseconds, and hiss is never lifted, as a real sustainer behaves.
Same hold on every take
Quiet or loud
Every take is brought to one level for the hold and the gate, so a quiet DI and a loud one sustain alike.
MIX
Blend in the dry
The effect against your guitar. 100 % by default, since the held note is your own guitar turned up.
IN and OUT
Gain where you need it
Input and output gain, -24 to +24 dB, with level meters on both and a safety stage under -1 dBFS.
12 sourced presets
Start from settings that work
Singing and infinite leads, slide and octave lines, amp feedback, studio-floor howls, fake swells, root drones, compressor-style sustain and ambient clean holds.
Zero latency
Play through it
Nothing is delayed, so you can play through it live.
A face that moves
Watch the note ring
One string across the dark: it rings for as long as the note holds, and the magenta bloom above it rises with the feedback tone.

How Forevr compares
A sustainer that follows the note, with the controls most leave out.
| Forevr | Typical sustainer plugins | |
|---|---|---|
| Sustain | Holds the live note, up to infinite | A compressor with makeup gain |
| Feedback | A tone tuned to the note, octave or overtone | None, or a fixed tone |
| Muting | Stops within milliseconds | Hiss and string noise pumped up |
| Hold | HOLD key or any MIDI note | Rarely |
| Latency | 0 ms | Often some |
| Try-and-compare | A/B, A>B, undo and redo | Often missing |
| Hardware control | MIDI Learn on every control | Often host automation only |
| Licence | 5 computers per copy, no dongle, works offline | Often fewer activations, or a dongle |
| Updates | Lifetime updates included | Often paid upgrades |

Questions
What is a guitar sustainer?
A device that keeps a guitar string ringing instead of letting it die away, often with a feedback tone, as a guitar gets in front of a loud amp. Forevr does it in software, on the note you recorded or play live.
Is it a compressor?
No. A compressor turns everything up, hiss and string noise included. Forevr follows the note you are playing, holds it up as it decays, and stops the moment you mute. For the even ring of a compressor-sustainer, use the Clean / Comp Sustain preset.
Does it work on chords?
It is made for single notes and leads. On chords it sustains the whole chord and the feedback tone follows the strongest note.
How do I hold a note for ever?
Turn SUSTAIN to 100 %, or press and hold HOLD, or send Forevr a MIDI note and hold it.
Can I use my own amp sim?
Yes. Turn DRIVE to 0 and put your amp sim after Forevr.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 7 SP1 or later or macOS 10.13 or later. There is no standalone app.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. To move it, deactivate it in the plugin on the old computer and unlock it on the new one.
Does it need the internet?
Once, to unlock it with the code we email you. After that it checks in now and then and works offline in between.
Is there a manual?
Yes. The full manual explains every control, every preset and the menus, with tips. It opens from the help key (?) in the plugin's top bar, and lives at https://voxsamples.com/forevr-guitar-sustainer-manual.

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
- Ryan Svensson (Founder & CEO)
