DaydreamerLush reverb effect · a warm, swirling reverb that ducks under the words
The only lush reverb plugin you'll ever need to make every vocal bloom.
Wrap a voice, a guitar or a pad in a warm, softly swirling tail that blooms between the phrases and steps back while you sing. The whole lush recipe behind one LUSH knob: pre-delay, a chorus into the reverb, a moving tail, warm damping, width and ducking, at zero latency.

Daydreamer in action
Why Daydreamer
The lush recipe on one knob
A lush reverb is usually built by hand: a pre-delay, a chorus into the reverb, slow movement in the tail, warm damping and width. LUSH turns them all together, from a clean reverb at 0 % to a slow, chorused, wide bloom at 100 %, and the level stays where it was.
Lush, and the words stay clear
DUCK dips the tail while you sing and lets it bloom in the gaps. At the default 30 % it takes about 3 to 4 dB off the tail on a sung line and nothing between the phrases, whether the vocal comes in loud or quiet.
Warm, never harsh
TONE rolls the tail's top end from 16 kHz down to 2 kHz, 4.1 kHz by default, and a fixed 180 Hz low cut keeps it out of the mud. Your dry signal is never filtered, delayed or chorused: only the reverb moves.
Lush. Decay.
Two big knobs do the work: how much the tail swirls, and how long it rings, read in seconds.

The lush reverb effect
- Three spaces. VOCAL PLATE (a dense, polished plate), HALL (a big, smooth concert hall) or DREAM (a very long, dark wash), 1.35 to 14 seconds, read in seconds.
- Lush on one knob. A slow chorus into the reverb, a gentle drift on the tail and a wider plate, from clean to a deep swirl, the level held.
- Clear words. The tail dips while you sing and blooms in the gaps; the pre-delay keeps the start of each word dry.
- Zero latency. 0 samples at every sample rate; your dry signal is never touched.
- LUSH, DECAY (with the pre-delay), TONE and DUCK.
- VOCAL PLATE, HALL and DREAM.
- MIX, the IN and OUT meters and ENGAGE.
- 12 factory presets and your own preset files; A/B, undo and redo, MIDI Learn on every control on the face; a window from 75 to 200 %; the full manual.
DREAM
A seven-second daydream.
Dream / Drenched Dream: the longest, darkest space with a deep swirl, half wet and never ducked, for pads, guitars and voices used as texture.
What Daydreamer does
Every control has one job: a lush tail that never buries the words, faster.
LUSH
From a clean tail to a slow bloom
One knob moves the whole lush recipe: a slow four-voice chorus into the reverb, a gentle drift on the tail, and on VOCAL PLATE a wider tail. 0 % is a clean reverb, the default 60 % clearly moving and rich, 100 % a deep swirl. The level is matched as you turn it, so LUSH is never a volume knob. The line under the knob reads CLEAN, SOFT SWIRL, SWIRL or DEEP SWIRL.
DECAY
How long it rings, in seconds
Each space has its own measured range: VOCAL PLATE 1.35 to 3.5 s, HALL 1.6 to 8 s, DREAM 2.6 to 14 s, and the cap reads the seconds of the space you chose (2.4 s by default). The pre-delay follows, 20 ms short to 40 ms long, and the line under the knob reads where the first reflection lands.
TONE
Warm to bright
The tail's top end: a high cut that moves from 2 kHz to 16 kHz, 4.1 kHz at the default 35 %, because darker tails feel warm and lush. The cap reads the frequency, the line under it DARK, WARM, OPEN or BRIGHT. A fixed 180 Hz low cut keeps the tail out of the low end.
DUCK
Lush but clear
The tail dips while the dry signal plays and blooms in the gaps. At the default 30 % it takes 3.3 to 3.9 dB off the tail on a sung line and nothing between phrases, at quiet and loud input levels alike. 0 % switches it off; higher settings leave a reverb heard mostly in the gaps.
TYPE
Three spaces
VOCAL PLATE: a dense, polished plate, the classic lush lead vocal. HALL: a big, smooth concert hall for vocals, choirs and guitars. DREAM: a very long, dark, drenched wash for pads and dreamy textures. Each is level-matched, and a change crossfades over 50 ms.
Pre-delay
The first word stays dry
The tail starts 20 to 40 ms after the note, following DECAY, so the start of each word stays clear. HALL's space answers no sooner than about 25 ms and DREAM's about 70 ms: they are that big. The line under DECAY shows where the first reflection lands.
MIX
Insert or send
The reverb against your dry signal, equal power: 30 % by default, a lush vocal on an insert. Set it to 100 % on a send, or start from Send / Fully Wet.
IN and OUT

12 sourced presets
Start from settings that work
Lead vocal plates long and short, a clean plate to compare against, a choir-stack hall, a midrange vocal hall, a slow-song hall, a drenched dream, a pad bloom, two lush guitars and a fully wet send: every one built from documented vocal-reverb practice and level-matched to the dry signal.
A face that moves
See the tail bloom
The glowing haze in the opening of the clouds is the reverb's tail: it billows out when the voice pauses and draws back while it sings. The opening's heart glows with the output and the light in the DAYDREAMER wordmark breathes.

How Daydreamer compares
The whole lush recipe in one insert, with the controls most leave out.
| Daydreamer | Typical lush reverb plugins | |
|---|---|---|
| The lush recipe | Pre-delay, chorus, tail movement, damping, width and ducking in one insert | Built by hand from ten or twenty controls |
| Movement | LUSH: chorus, tail drift and width on one knob | Separate depth, rate and width settings |
| Ducking | Built in and on by default, the same at any input level | A compressor and a sidechain to route |
| Decay | Measured, read in seconds on each space | A percentage or a guess |
| Level | Matched across every space and setting | Louder the longer or wider it gets |
| Latency | 0 samples at every sample rate | Depends on the reverb |
| Try-and-compare | A/B, A>B, undo and redo | Often missing |
| Hardware control | MIDI Learn on every control on the face | Often host automation only |
| Licence | 5 computers per copy, no dongle, works offline | Often fewer activations, or a dongle |
| Updates | Lifetime updates included | Often paid upgrades |

Questions
How do I get a lush vocal reverb?
Put Daydreamer on a dry lead vocal and sing: the default is already a warm, softly swirling vocal plate of 2.4 seconds with a 30 ms pre-delay, ducking under the words. Turn LUSH up for more swirl, DECAY for a longer tail, and try Vocal / Long Tail Pop Vocal or Hall / Cathedral Choir Stack.
Will the reverb wash out my vocal?
No. DUCK dips the tail while you sing and lets it bloom between the phrases, and the pre-delay keeps the start of each word dry. Turn DUCK up for a reverb heard mostly in the gaps, or to 0 for a reverb that never dips.
Does it work on guitars and pads?
Yes. Guitar / Lush Guitar and Guitar / Dream Guitar Wash are lush guitar reverbs, and Dream / Pad Bloom is a long, unducked bloom for pads and synths.
Does it change the pitch of my voice?
No. The swirl is a slow chorus of a few cents on the reverb only; your dry signal is never chorused, filtered or delayed.
Does it add latency?
No: 0 samples at every sample rate, so you can sing and play through it live.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 7 SP1 or later or macOS 10.13 or later. There is no standalone app.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. To move it, deactivate it in the plugin on the old computer and unlock it on the new one.
Does it need the internet?
Once, to unlock it with the code we email you. After that it checks in now and then and works offline in between.
Is there a manual?
Yes. The full manual explains every control, every preset and the menus, with tips. It opens from the help key (?) in the plugin's top bar, and lives at https://voxsamples.com/daydreamer-lush-reverb-effect-manual.

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
- Ryan Svensson (Founder & CEO)
