Why Reverse King 3

01

Transitions that sound produced

Reverse swells, reversed cymbals and suck-ups that lead into the hit. The drop arrives like it was planned.

02

Swells that land on time

Locked mode lines the reversed swell up on or before the note that made it. Live mode plays at zero latency for tracking and performing.

03

Every reverse trick, one plugin

A reversed buffer, a reverse tape echo and a reverse hall at once, with a 24-effect rack that moves across every window. No more bouncing, flipping and dragging audio by hand.

Reverse King 3 tilted and floating in a black space, rim-lit, with an orange glow spilling from underneath

Swell into every hit

Reverse reverb puts the swell in front of the note, not after it.

The reverse machine

The only reverse plugin you'll ever need: swells and transitions that make every drop land.

Reverse swells usually mean bouncing audio, flipping it and dragging it into place by hand, again every time the arrangement changes. Reverse King 3 does it live, on your tempo: reverse reverb that swells into the note, backwards echoes and reversed risers, as the track plays.
  • Transitions that sound produced. Reverse swells, reversed cymbals and suck-ups that lead into the hit.
  • Swells that land on time. Locked mode lines the swell up on or before the note that made it; Live mode plays at zero latency.
  • Every reverse trick, one plugin. Three reverse engines at once, with a 24-effect rack that moves across every window.
Everything inside
  • 3 reverse engines on one clock, each at its own level: a reversed buffer, a reverse tape echo and a reverse hall.
  • length sets the window and refresh how often a new one is taken: from 5 ms to 8 s, or synced from 1/128 triplet to 2 bars.
  • Triggered on the grid, on transients, by MIDI notes or the fire key, with FREEZE; daw sync locks it to your host's bars.
  • A 24-effect rack in seven families (envelope, filter, drive, lo-fi, modulation, space and dynamics), always on the panel, whose knobs can sweep across each window.
  • Live mode at zero latency, or Locked so the swell lands on or before its source.
  • Sidechain capture, locked to your host's bars or free-running; mix, input, duck and output.
  • ANALOG UNIT 1, 2 and 3 with LINK: three characters to suit the track.
  • 250 presets; A/B, 64-step undo, tooltips and MIDI Learn.
Formats: VST3 and AAX on Windows 10/11 64-bit; VST3, AU and AAX on macOS 11 or later. Licence: five of your own computers per copy you buy, unlocked with your email and a code.

One clock

Three engines

Reversed buffer, reverse delay and reverse reverb share one window, each at its own level. Length sets the window; refresh, how often a new one is taken.

What Reverse King 3 does

Every control is there to put the swell exactly where you want it.

A low, raking view along the engine row from the left: the green delay key with its tape-echo picture in focus, the blue buffer key and knob in front and the white reverb group out of focus

3 reverse engines

Three ways backwards, all at once

The buffer plays each window backwards. The reverse tape echo sends back repeats that darken as they go. The reverse vintage digital hall puts a swell in front of the note instead of a tail after it. Each has its own level fader.

The main panel close up from the front right: the orange length knob reading 1/8 d at 375 ms, the refresh knob and its “every window” screen, and the mix knob

length and refresh

From long swells to tight stutters

length sets how much is reversed at a time, 5 ms to 8 s or 1/128 triplet to 2 bars. refresh sets how often a new buffer is taken, so a reversed slice can repeat on every beat.

The clock from overhead: the large freeze key with its snowflake, the fire key with its play arrow, the daw sync switch set to on and the latency screen reading live, 0 smp

Triggers, fire and freeze

Fire it your way

Start windows on the grid, on each hit in the audio, or on MIDI notes. The fire key starts one now. freeze holds the window you're hearing and keeps playing it.

The FX rack from the front: its named keys with their icons and values in family rows, gate selected, and the module screen reading gate beside its picture of a dual rack noise gate

The 24-effect rack

Effects that move with every swell

Gate, pump, fade, filters, telephone, tube saturation, distortion, exciter, crushers, dust, vibrato, tremolo, tape, chorus, flanger, phaser, de-esser, echo, hall, widener, compressor and a mastering maximiser, in seven families.

The timeline screen at 45 degrees from the front: the large 1/8 d readout with sync, live and daw above the timeline, the refresh and orange length knobs in front

The timeline screen

See every window

The dry signal above, the reversed output below, the seams marked. The length in large figures, sync or free, live or locked, and what the plugin reports to your DAW.

Reverse King 3 straight down, its one page with every control: the header with the preset default, the timeline showing 1/8 d beside the meters, analog unit 1 and link off, the clock with freeze, fire and daw sync, the refresh, length and mix knobs, the buffer, delay and reverb groups with their picture keys and detail rows, and the rack of 24 named keys with gate selected and its picture of a dual rack noise gate on the module screen

250 presets

Start from a finished transition

Three analog units

Pick the character that suits the track

Choose the character, not just the settings. Three analog units: the same circuit, voiced like three boxes off the same bench. Switch between 1, 2 and 3 and keep the one that sits best in the mix. link keeps left and right identical, or lets the two channels differ slightly, like a real stereo unit. The unit you pick is saved with your session.

align: Live and Locked

Swells that land on the beat

Locked delays the dry and tells your DAW, so the reversed attack lands on or before its source. Live reports zero latency, so you can record and perform through it.

daw sync

Locked to your session's bars

By default it follows your DAW's transport and lines every window up with the bars. Switch it off and it runs on its own, so you can play into it with the transport stopped.

Sweeps

A filter that opens into every attack

Hold Alt and drag a rack knob to set where it sweeps to across each window, or let it follow the input's level. A reversed swell can start dark and open up as it reaches its hit.

Sidechain capture

Reverse one sound under another

Capture from your DAW's sidechain input and reverse a snare under a pad or a vocal under a synth, while the track you hear stays dry.

A/B, undo, redo and MIDI Learn

Take complete control of your workflow

A and B keep two complete settings, saved with your session. 128 steps of undo and redo. Right-click any knob, fader or switch to map it to your MIDI controller, channel by channel.

Inside the plugin

The real device, straight from Reverse King 3. Flip through the rack.

The whole Reverse King 3 panel, one page with every control: the timeline at 1/8 d, the analog unit and link selectors beside it, the clock with freeze, fire and daw sync, the refresh, length and mix panel, the buffer, delay and reverb groups with their picture keys and detail rows, and the FX rack with gate selected and its picture of a dual rack noise gate
The Reverse King 3 rack on gate: the 24 named keys, and the module screen with its picture of a dual-channel rack noise gate with yellow-capped knobs beside the threshold, filter and release knobs

gate

Drum gate: shuts off the reversed sound below a threshold, with its own filter and release.

Questions

Will the swell land in time?

Set align to Locked and your DAW lines the reversed swell up to land on or before its source. The Vocal Swells presets are set up this way. Live runs at zero latency for playing in.

Can I record or perform through it?

Yes, in Live mode, which adds no latency. The reversed sound arrives a window or two after what caused it: to play a second of audio backwards, the plugin has to hear that second first.

Does my DAW need to be playing?

By default it follows your DAW's transport and bars. Switch daw sync off and it runs on its own, so you can play into it with the transport stopped.

Is it hard to set up?

No. Load one of 250 presets in twelve categories, from Vocal Swells and Risers & Cymbals to Stutter & Glitch, then turn length. Every control is on one page.

Can I reverse one sound under another?

Yes. Set capture to side and it reverses your DAW's sidechain input, while the track you hear stays dry. Your DAW needs to route a sidechain to it.

Does it work in my DAW?

Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 10 and 11 or macOS 11 and later. The installer puts each format where your DAW looks for it.

How many computers, and does it need the internet?

Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. It needs the internet once, to unlock with the code we email you; after that it checks in now and then and works offline in between. To move it, choose Licence > Deactivate this computer on the old one.

What if it's not for me?

Email contact@voxsamples.com within 90 days for a full refund.

Founder's Story

"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.

So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."

- Ryan Svensson (Founder & CEO)
