Rebounder in action
Why Rebounder
The real slap
One repeat, high-passed, saturated and darkened by tape with a slight wow, the way the vintage tape slap sounds.
Locked to your song
FEEL works out the slap from your tempo, right on the 1/16, pushed ahead or laid back, so the slap sits in the groove.
The voice in front
The dry voice is never delayed, filtered or limited; SLAP blends the repeat under it, and a small ROOM can replace a reverb.
Time. Slap.
Two big knobs do the work: how quickly the slap comes back, and how loud it sits under the voice.

The slapback delay plugin
- The real slap. High-passed, saturated, darkened by tape, with a slight wow.
- In the groove. On the 1/16, pushed ahead or laid back.
- A room, not a reverb. ROOM keeps the voice close.
- Zero latency. Sing through it.
- TIME, SLAP, TAPE and ROOM.
- FEEL (FREE, PUSH, ON, LAID BACK) and REPEATS.
- IN and OUT with meters, and ENGAGE.
- 14 factory presets and your own preset files; A/B, undo and redo, MIDI Learn on every control; a window from 75 to 200 %; the full manual.
THE BOUNCE
See every slap come back.
The light flashes off the tiles and flies back with each repeat, TIME after every word.
What Rebounder does
Every control has one job: the classic slap, right behind the voice.
TIME
How quick the slap
40 to 250 ms, 120 ms at the centre: shorter thickens the voice, longer is heard as an echo. A change glides like a tape machine changing speed.
SLAP
Under the voice
The repeat against the voice in an equal-power blend: audible but under it at the default, the slap alone at 100 % for an aux return.
TAPE
The vintage colour
Tape saturation on the slap, each repeat darker, from 12 kHz down to 4 kHz, and a slight wow. The voice is never touched.
FEEL
Locked to your tempo
The slap-delay calculator built in: ON lands on the 1/16, PUSH just ahead, LAID BACK just behind, each key showing its time.
ROOM
A room instead of a reverb
A small, slightly dark room behind the voice and the slap, never more than 6 dB under the voice.
REPEATS
One slap, or a few
Off, exactly one repeat; on, 20 % fed back for a few fading, darkening echoes.
High-passed slap
No mud
The slap is filtered below 150 Hz, so it never thickens the low end of the voice.
IN and OUT
Gain where you need it
IN and OUT give -24 to +24 dB with meters; the slap and room are held under -1 dBFS, the voice never limited.
14 sourced presets
Start from settings that work
Vintage and modern vocal slaps, tempo feels, a rockabilly guitar, a drum slap and an aux return, each levelled to the dry.
A face that moves
The bounce, in light
A sound wave flies in to the tiles, flashes, and the slap flies straight back, lit by the repeat itself.

How Rebounder compares
The vintage tape slap, locked to your song, in one insert.
| Rebounder | Typical slapback delay plugins | |
|---|---|---|
| Tempo feel | FEEL: on, pushed or laid back at your tempo | A time to work out by hand |
| Tape colour | Saturation, darker repeats and a slight wow | Often a clean digital repeat |
| Low end | The slap high-passed at 150 Hz | Often a separate EQ |
| Room | A small room behind the voice, built in | A second plugin |
| Blend | SLAP: one knob, equal power | Send levels and a MIX |
| Latency | Zero | Often zero |
| Try-and-compare | A/B, A>B, undo and redo | Often missing |
| Hardware control | MIDI Learn on every control | Often host automation only |
| Licence | 5 computers per copy, no dongle, works offline | Often fewer activations, or a dongle |
| Updates | Lifetime updates included | Often paid upgrades |

Questions
What is a slapback delay?
A single quick repeat, usually 70 to 150 ms, right behind the voice: the sound of 1950s records made by bouncing the voice off a tape machine, and of rock, soul and country vocals ever since.
What time should I use for slapback?
Start at 120 ms, the default. Shorter thickens the voice, longer is heard as an echo. Or let FEEL work it out from your tempo: ON, PUSH or LAID BACK.
Can it replace a reverb?
Often, yes: a slap keeps the voice close and clear. Turn ROOM up a little for a small room behind it.
Can I sing through it?
Yes. It adds no latency.
Does it work on guitar and drums?
Yes: Guitar / Rockabilly Guitar and Drums / Drum Slap are built for them.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 7 SP1 or later or macOS 10.13 or later. There is no standalone app.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. To move it, deactivate it in the plugin on the old computer and unlock it on the new one.
Does it need the internet?
Once, to unlock it with the code we email you. After that it checks in now and then and works offline in between.
Is there a manual?
Yes. The full manual explains every control, every preset and the menus, with tips. It opens from the help key (?) in the plugin's top bar, and lives at https://voxsamples.com/rebounder-vocal-slapback-delay-effect-manual.
What if it's not for me?

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
