A long 808, evened out.
Switch TYPE to 808 and a compressor on the low band evens a booming sub, its level brought back on the low band only.

Kick and 808 that stop
In KICK, the low band's ring between the hits comes down, up to 15 dB at 100 % (40 % by default). In 808, a compressor evens the low band. The line reads OFF, LIGHT, TIGHT, TIGHTER or LOCKED.
CLEAN
Rumble and mud out
Above 0 a 25 Hz high-pass takes the rumble out; the knob also dips 250 Hz, from 0 to -4 dB, for a woolly low mid. 35 % by default.
RANGE
Where the low end stops
The crossover between the low band and the rest, 60 to 300 Hz, 150 Hz by default. Everything above it passes untouched.
MONO
Lows in the centre
How much of the stereo side below 120 Hz is taken out: 100 % by default, a mono low end that holds up on every system.
TYPE
Kick or 808
KICK shapes the low band's transients: the ring between hits comes down. 808 compresses it: a long, uneven sub is evened out.

How do I tighten a boomy kick?
Insert it on the kick or the drum bus: the default, Tight Kick, already shortens the ring between the hits and centres the lows. Turn TIGHTEN up until each hit stops where you want; press LOW SOLO to hear just the low end.
What about an 808?
Switch TYPE to 808, or start on 808 / Controlled 808. A compressor on the low band evens out a long, uneven sub; for 808s that need to stop sooner, KICK shortens the ring instead.
Will it make my low end thinner?
No. TIGHTEN only works on the ring between hits, CLEAN cuts below 25 Hz and dips 250 Hz gently, and every preset is level-matched within 1 LU of the dry, so you hear tighter, not quieter.
Can I use it on a full mix or a master?
Yes. Mix / Mastering Low End is a small move for a whole track, Mix / Mud Out cleans a woolly mix, and MONO keeps the lows centred. There is no latency.
Why mono below 120 Hz?
Low notes in stereo can cancel in mono and waste headroom. Taking the side out below 120 Hz keeps the bass solid on phones, club systems and vinyl, and you cannot hear direction that low anyway.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 7 SP1 or later or macOS 10.13 or later. There is no standalone app.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. To move it, deactivate it in the plugin on the old computer and unlock it on the new one.
Does it need the internet?
Once, to unlock it with the code we email you. After that it checks in now and then and works offline in between.
