Air RaidDub siren effect · fire it over any track, its echo locked to the song
The only dub siren plugin you'll ever need to fire over any track.
The sound-system dub siren in one insert: a wail, a hi-lo alarm or a whoop, fired from the FIRE key, host automation or MIDI notes, into a wobbling tape echo and a spring locked to your song's tempo. Your track passes untouched, the siren sits in the mix at any level, and it adds zero latency.

A reggae riddim songstarter - Init, FIRE held through bars 3-4
Jungle break, the rasta box
A dry jungle break at 165 BPM - Jungle / Junglist Rewind, FIRE for one bar
Build-up runaway

Air Raid in action
Why Air Raid
Fire it your way
Hold the FIRE key, automate it in your arrangement, or play MIDI notes: each note sets the siren's pitch and a harder hit sweeps faster. LATCH turns any of them into an on/off switch.
The echo that makes it dub
Every burst runs into a dark, wobbling tape echo and a spring. ECHO TIME locks the repeats to your song, and turning ECHO up sends the trail into the classic runaway build-up.
Sits in the mix by itself
The siren follows your track's loudness, so MIX at 50 % puts it in the same place on a quiet demo or a loud master. Your track is never changed, and nothing sounds until you fire.
Pitch. Speed.
Two big knobs do the work, as on a siren box: the note it wails from, and how fast it sweeps.

The dub siren plugin
- Fire it your way. The FIRE key, host automation of FIRE, or MIDI notes that set the pitch; LATCH to switch it on and off.
- Dub echo, in time. ECHO TIME from 1/8 to 1/2 at your tempo, and ECHO up to the runaway build-up.
- Three sirens. WAIL, ALARM and WHOOP, from a steady tone to a two-octave dive.
- Sits in the mix. The siren follows your track's loudness; your track is never changed.
- FIRE and LATCH, with MIDI-note firing (pitch from the note, speed from the velocity).
- PITCH (55 Hz to 1.76 kHz), SPEED (4 bars to 1/32, or 0.1 to 40 Hz with SYNC off), SWEEP (0 to 24 semitones) and SHAPE.
- ECHO, ECHO TIME (1/8, 1/8T, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2) and SPRING; MIX, the IN and OUT meters and ENGAGE; zero latency.
- 12 factory presets and your own preset files; A/B, undo and redo, MIDI Learn on every control; a window from 75 to 200 %; the full manual.
FIRE
Hit FIRE. Light the dance.
Hold FIRE, automate it or play it from MIDI: the beacon turns and the siren wails into its echo.
What Air Raid does
Every control has one job: the siren you hear in your head, fired exactly when you want it.
FIRE
Play the siren live
Hold the key and the siren wails; let go and the echoes trail away. It lights whenever the siren sounds, and nothing plays until you fire it.
Automation and MIDI
Fire it in your arrangement
FIRE is a host parameter: draw it in and the siren plays in time and in your render. Or send MIDI notes: any note fires it at the note's pitch, and a harder hit sweeps faster.
LATCH
Hold or switch
Off, the siren sounds while FIRE or a note is held. On, one click or note switches it on and the next switches it off.
PITCH and SPEED
The siren box's two big knobs
PITCH from 55 Hz to 1.76 kHz, read as a note; SPEED as a note value at your song's tempo, 4 bars to 1/32, or 0.1 to 40 Hz free.
SHAPE
Wail, alarm or whoop
WAIL, the falling square-wave dub siren; ALARM, the harder hi-lo alarm; WHOOP, the rising and falling test-tone sine. Level-matched.
SWEEP
From a steady tone to a two-octave dive
How far the pitch falls on each sweep, 0 to 24 semitones; 0 is a steady tone.
ECHO
From a few repeats to a runaway
One knob sets the send and the feedback, and counts the repeats for you. Near the top the trail grows by itself into the classic build-up, held safely under the limiter.
ECHO TIME
Repeats on the beat
1/8, 1/8T, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2 at your song's tempo, the dotted 3/8 by default; with SYNC off, 250 ms to 1 s. Each one level-matched.
SPRING
The sound-system splash
A spring reverb on the siren and its echoes, with the level held as you turn it.
MIX
The siren where it belongs
The siren follows your track's loudness, so 50 % sits about 6 LU under the track at any level. Your track itself is never changed.
12 sourced presets
Start from settings that work
Sound-system wails and alarms, the steady test tone, a jungle siren, a runaway build-up, a slow riser, a buzzing throb and a DJ siren button.
Zero latency
Fire it live
Your track is never delayed, and the siren answers the moment you hit FIRE or a note.
A face that moves
See the siren
The red beacon turns while the siren sounds and the yard glows with every echo. It goes dark when nothing is fired.

Questions
I inserted it and hear nothing. Why?
Air Raid passes your track through untouched until the siren is fired. Hold the FIRE key under SPEED, automate the Fire parameter, or send it MIDI notes.
How do I fire it in my song?
Automate FIRE: draw the Fire parameter on where the siren should sound and off where it should stop, or record your clicks on FIRE as automation. It then plays in time on every playback and in an offline render, in any host.
Can I play it with MIDI?
Yes. Route a MIDI or instrument track's output to Air Raid. Any note on any channel fires it at the note's own pitch, and velocity sets the speed: 100 sweeps as set, 127 twice as fast. With LATCH on, a note switches it on and the same note switches it off.
What is ECHO TIME?
How far apart the siren's echoes land: 1/8, 1/8T, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2 at your song's tempo, with the dotted 3/8 by default. With SYNC off they become 250, 167, 375, 500, 750 and 1000 ms.
How do I get the runaway echo build-up?
Turn ECHO past about 89 %, where the line under it reads RUNAWAY, or load Build-Up / Runaway. Fire a short burst and the echo keeps growing; turn ECHO down to end it.
Can I make my own siren sound effect?
Yes. Put Air Raid on an empty track, automate FIRE or play a note, and bounce: the siren and its echoes render with it.
Why did the siren stop when I stopped the song?
On purpose: a held FIRE, held notes and a latched siren all let go when the song stops, so a siren never sounds on behind a stopped song.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 7 SP1 or later or macOS 10.13 or later. There is no standalone app.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. To move it, deactivate it in the plugin on the old computer and unlock it on the new one.
Does it need the internet?
Once, to unlock it with the code we email you. After that it checks in now and then and works offline in between.
Is there a manual?
Yes. The full manual explains every control, every preset and the menus, with tips. It opens from the help key (?) in the plugin's top bar, and lives at https://voxsamples.com/air-raid-dub-siren-effect-manual.
What if it's not for me?

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
- Ryan Svensson (Founder & CEO)
Every sound-system siren. One insert.
Wails, alarms and whoops, fired by hand, automation or MIDI, into a tape echo and a spring locked to your song, at zero latency.
