GlowerPassive EQ plugin · the low-end trick, silky air and tube warmth on three knobs
The only passive EQ plugin you'll ever need for a bigger bottom, silky air and tube glow.
The classic passive tube EQ moves on three knobs: the low-end trick on LOW, a broad, silky lift of the air on TOP, and tube warmth and glue on TUBE. Pick the SOURCE, a kick, a bass, a vocal or a whole mix, and every knob is level-matched, so you hear the tone, not just louder.

Glower in action
Why Glower
The low-end trick on one knob
Boost and cut at the same low frequency, together: the bottom gets bigger and rounder while the mids above it step back. One knob, LOW, turns both, so the famous move takes seconds.
Silk on top
TOP is a broad, gentle lift of the air at 10 or 16 kHz, smooth rather than sharp: a vocal opens up, a master gets its sheen.
Tube glow that never just gets louder
TUBE adds warmth and glue after the EQ. An auto input level means it acts the same on a quiet track and a loud one, and every knob is level-matched.
Low. Top.
Two big knobs do the work: the low-end trick at the bottom and a broad, silky lift on top, at the frequencies SOURCE picks for your track.

The passive EQ plugin
- The low-end trick on one knob. Boost and cut together at 30, 60 or 100 Hz: weight without mud.
- Silky air. A broad, smooth high boost at 10 or 16 kHz.
- Tube glow, the same on every track. An auto input level before the tube, so TUBE means the same on a whisper and a master.
- Level-matched. Every knob and preset sits at the dry signal's loudness, so you hear the tone, not just louder.
- LOW and TOP (0 to 10) with the frequency printed under each, and TUBE (0 to 100 %).
- SOURCE: KICK (60 Hz / 10 kHz), BASS (100 Hz / 10 kHz), VOCAL (100 Hz / 16 kHz) or MIX (30 Hz / 16 kHz).
- MIX, IN and OUT with meters, ENGAGE, a safety stage under -1 dBFS and 32 samples of latency.
- 13 factory presets and your own preset files; A/B, undo and redo, MIDI Learn on every control; a window from 75 to 200 %; the full manual.
SOURCE
Kick, bass, vocal or mix.
One click sets LOW's and TOP's frequencies for what you are working on: 60 Hz for a kick, 100 Hz for a bass or a voice, 30 Hz and 16 kHz for a whole mix.
What Glower does
Every control has one job: the passive tube EQ sound you hear in your head, faster.
LOW
The low-end trick on one knob
A boost and a cut at the same low frequency, turned up together, the cut at three quarters of the boost: the bottom swells while the mids above it dip out of the way, for weight without mud. 0 to 10, the classic scale: +3.2 dB under the frequency at 4, steeper past 6, up to +12 dB at 10.
TOP
Silky, broad air
A wide, gentle high boost at 10 or 16 kHz, 0 to 10: about +2.2 dB at the default 6.5 and +6.5 dB at 10. Broad enough that the 16 kHz setting lifts 12 kHz too, so a voice opens up without getting sharp.
TUBE
Warmth and glue
A tube stage after the EQ, mostly even harmonics. Its line reads CLEAN, WARM, GLOW or DRIVEN as you turn it. At 0 the tube is out of the circuit altogether; from there to 10 % it fades in.
Auto input level
The same tube on every track
Before the tube, Glower brings your track to one working level and puts it back after, so TUBE 50 % sounds the same on a quiet vocal and a loud master, and the tube never just makes it louder.
SOURCE
The right frequencies in one click
KICK: 60 Hz and 10 kHz. BASS: 100 Hz and 10 kHz. VOCAL: 100 Hz and 16 kHz. MIX: 30 Hz and 16 kHz, the default. The line under LOW and TOP always prints the frequency they work at, and a change glides, click-free.
Level-matched
Hear the tone, not louder
Every knob position and every preset is matched to the dry signal's loudness, so turning LOW or TOP up changes the tone and not the volume, and a fair before and after is one click on ENGAGE.
Mix, IN and OUT
Parallel EQ on one knob
MIX blends the whole effect with your dry signal, 100 % by default. IN and OUT set the level, -24 to +24 dB, with meters on both.
Safety stage
Boost freely
The EQ boosts, so the output can pass the input: a fast stage holds the peaks under -1 dBFS, and a 15 Hz filter keeps the tube's sub-bass rumble out of your mix.
13 sourced presets
Start from settings that work
The big kick trick, kick weight, round and fat bass, rock vocal sheen, warm thin vocal, air lift, a silky master, glue and glow, gentle polish, the low-end trick on a master and tube warmth alone, each from documented settings.
A/B, undo and MIDI Learn
Take complete control of your workflow
Two complete settings to compare, undo and redo, and MIDI Learn on every control: right-click a knob, move a controller, and it is yours.
32 samples of latency
Track and mix through it
The tube stage runs oversampled, so Glower is 32 samples late at every setting, under a millisecond, and tells your DAW so it lines up.
Tubes that glow
See the tube work
The three tubes' filaments follow the tube stage's drive, brighter as TUBE goes up and the music gets louder, down to embers at TUBE 0 or bypassed. The light pooled under them follows the output.

How Glower compares
The classic passive tube EQ moves on three knobs, level-matched.
| Glower | Typical passive EQ plugins | |
|---|---|---|
| The low-end trick | Boost and cut together on one knob | Two knobs to balance by ear |
| Frequencies | SOURCE picks them for a kick, bass, vocal or mix | Several switches to look up |
| Loudness | Every knob and preset level-matched | Often louder as you boost |
| Tube stage | Built in, the same on quiet and loud tracks | Often a fixed drive, or none |
| Parallel blend | MIX on the panel | Often missing |
| Output safety | Peaks held under -1 dBFS | Often clips when you boost |
| Try-and-compare | A/B, A>B, undo and redo | Often missing |
| Hardware control | MIDI Learn on every control | Often host automation only |
| Licence | 5 computers per copy, no dongle, works offline | Often fewer activations, or a dongle |
| Updates | Lifetime updates included | Often paid upgrades |

Questions
What does a passive tube EQ sound like?
Big, round, warm lows that grow without getting muddy, and a smooth, silky top that adds air without harshness, with a gentle tube thickness to glue it: broad, forgiving colour, never surgical. Glower gives you those moves on three knobs, level-matched.
What is the low-end trick?
Boosting and cutting at the same low frequency at once. The boost lifts the bottom, the cut dips the frequencies above it, and the bass gets bigger and rounder without getting muddy. On Glower it is one knob, LOW, at the frequency SOURCE picks.
Why doesn't it get louder when I turn it up?
Every knob is level-matched to your dry signal, so you hear the change in tone and not just more volume. Use OUT if you want it louder.
Is it a tube EQ?
Yes. TUBE adds a tube stage after the EQ, mostly even harmonics, with an auto input level in front of it so it acts the same on a quiet track and a loud one. At 0 the tube is out of the circuit.
Does it add latency?
32 samples at every setting, under a millisecond, because the tube stage runs oversampled. Glower reports it to your DAW, which lines everything up.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 7 SP1 or later or macOS 10.13 or later. There is no standalone app.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. To move it, deactivate it in the plugin on the old computer and unlock it on the new one.
Does it need the internet?
Once, to unlock it with the code we email you. After that it checks in now and then and works offline in between.
Is there a manual?
Yes. The full manual explains every control, every preset and the menus, with tips. It opens from the help key (?) in the plugin's top bar, and lives at https://voxsamples.com/glower-tube-passive-eq-effect-manual.
What if it's not for me?

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
