What does VS-F76 do?
It is a FET compressor and limiter. It clamps down in as little as 20 microseconds, so the front of every note is under control and the body comes forward.
Which sources does it suit?
Anything that needs grabbing rather than leveling: vocals that must cut, drums that should snap, bass that has to stay put. All buttons in makes a drum room explode.
How is it different from a plain compressor?
Its attack and release are far faster than most, its four ratio keys go all in at once with a Shift-click, and its sidechain has a high-pass and a mid and high EQ, so you choose what it reacts to. MIX blends it back for parallel compression.
What does "one analog unit, built in" mean?
VS-F76 carries the small part tolerances of one single unit, each side its own, in every setting. There is no selector and nothing to switch: it is always that one unit.
Does it work in my DAW?
