Why VS-GB
Glue in five knobs
THRESHOLD, ATTACK, RATIO, RELEASE and MAKE-UP, stepped where they should be. The mix locks together and leans forward.
Auto release
It follows the music: quick on drum hits, slow on sustained chords.
Ten controls beyond the panel
Parallel MIX, a sidechain high-pass, detector EQ, a transient detector, TURBO and transformer colour, with QUALITY 2x for clean work when it is pushed.
Five knobs that finish a mix
Two or three dB of gain reduction at 2:1 or 4:1, attack 10 and release Auto, and the drums punch through while everything else locks together.

The console bus compressor
- Glue in five knobs. THRESHOLD, ATTACK, RATIO, RELEASE and MAKE-UP, stepped where they should be.
- Auto release. Follows the music: quick on drum hits, slow on sustained chords.
- Ten controls beyond the panel. Parallel MIX, a sidechain high-pass, detector EQ, a transient detector, TURBO and transformer colour.
- Clean when it works hard. QUALITY 2x oversamples the gain stage.
- THRESHOLD; ATTACK .1, .3, 1, 3, 10 or 30 ms; RATIO 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 to 1; RELEASE .1, .3, .6, 1.2 s or Auto; MAKE-UP; COMPRESSOR IN; a meter in dB of compression.
- ADVANCED: MIX, a sidechain high-pass (20 to 500 Hz), detector BOOST, MID and HIGH, TRANS MIX and TRANS TILT for a transient detector, TURBO, XFMR (the transformers' saturation) and QUALITY 1x or 2x.
- A display unit you can hide: gain reduction readings, six seconds of gain reduction history, the live transfer curve and a needle meter.
- One analog unit, built in: the small part tolerances of a single unit, each side its own, in every setting.
- Presets you save and load, with arrows to step through them; A/B, undo and redo, MIDI Learn on every control; a window from 75 to 200 %.
- Zero latency at QUALITY 1x (64 samples at 2x, reported to your DAW).
ADVANCED
Ten controls beyond the panel
MIX, SC HPF, BOOST, MID, HIGH, TRANS MIX, TRANS TILT, TURBO, XFMR and QUALITY: decide what the compressor hears and how it colours.
What VS-GB does
Every control on the panel and in the ADVANCED strip, and what it does for the mix.
THRESHOLD and MAKE-UP
Set the glue, keep the level
THRESHOLD from -15 to +15 on the dial: turn it down for more. MAKE-UP adds up to 15 dB back.
RATIO
Glue or limit
1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 to 1: 2:1 and 4:1 glue a mix, 10:1 limits.
ATTACK and RELEASE, with Auto
Let the drums punch through
Attack .1, .3, 1, 3, 10 or 30 ms; release .1, .3, .6 or 1.2 s, or Auto, which is quick on hits and slow on sustained chords.
MIX and SC HPF
Parallel glue without pumping
Blend the dry mix back in. The sidechain high-pass, 20 to 500 Hz, keeps the kick and bass from pumping the mix.
Detector EQ and transients
Decide what it reacts to
BOOST drives the detector harder, MID (1.6 kHz) and HIGH (5 kHz) shape what it hears, and TRANS MIX and TRANS TILT blend in a transient detector.
TURBO, XFMR and QUALITY
Grip, colour and clean work
TURBO links the two channels' detectors for a tighter grip. XFMR puts the transformers' saturation in the path. QUALITY 2x oversamples the gain stage, at 64 samples of latency.
The display unit
Glue you can see
Gain reduction readings, six seconds of gain reduction history, the transfer curve measured from the unit at your settings, and a needle meter. Hide it when you want just the panel.
One analog unit, built in
One unit's character, always on
The small part tolerances of a single unit, each side its own, in every setting. No selector: it is always this one unit.

How VS-GB compares
Bus glue, with the controls most leave out.
| VS-GB | Typical bus compressor plugins | |
|---|---|---|
| Ratios | Six, from 1.5:1 to 10:1 | Often fewer |
| Parallel blend | MIX built in | Not on every one |
| Sidechain filter | High-pass, 20 to 500 Hz | A fixed filter, or none |
| Detector EQ | BOOST, MID and HIGH in the detector | Rarely offered |
| Transient detector | TRANS MIX and TRANS TILT | Rarely offered |
| Transformer colour | XFMR, in or out | Often missing |
| Oversampling | QUALITY 1x or 2x | Fixed, or not offered |
| Seeing the glue | Gain reduction history and a measured transfer curve | A needle meter only |
| Try-and-compare | A/B, undo and redo | Often missing |
| Hardware control | MIDI Learn on every control | Often missing |

Questions
What does VS-GB do?
It is a console bus compressor. On the mix bus it pulls a pile of tracks into one record: glued, punchy and forward.
Which sources does it suit?
The mix bus first: two or three dB of gain reduction at 2:1 or 4:1, attack 10 and release Auto is the place to start. It works the same way on any group that should sound like one, such as a drum bus.
How is it different from a plain compressor?
Its attack, ratio and release are stepped where a mix needs them, Auto release follows the music, and ten controls beyond the panel let you blend it in parallel, filter and shape the detector, add a transient detector and transformer colour.
What does "one analog unit, built in" mean?
VS-GB carries the small part tolerances of one single unit, each side its own, in every setting. There is no selector and nothing to switch: it is always that one unit.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins: VST3 and AAX on Windows 10 and 11, VST3, AU and AAX on macOS 11 or later.
Does it add latency?
None at QUALITY 1x. QUALITY 2x oversamples the gain stage and adds 64 samples, which it reports to your DAW so everything stays in time.

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
