NightcoreSped up effect · a real speed-up, chipmunk or natural voice
The only sped up effect you'll ever need to make any song nightcore.
Make the nightcore, sped-up version of any song inside your DAW: drop the song on the plugin, or let it learn the track in one pass, and it plays back faster and higher together, like a record played fast. Keep the chipmunk voice or bring the singer's natural voice back.

Nightcore in action
Why Nightcore
A real speed-up
Tempo and pitch rise together, exactly like a record played fast: the true nightcore sound, from 100 to 150 % speed.
Drop it, or learn it
Drop a song file on the plugin and the very first play is sped up. Or play the track once to let it learn, then play again.
Chipmunk or natural
VOICE takes the singer from the classic chipmunk to their own natural voice at the higher pitch, and BODY gives back the warmth a sped-up song loses.
Speed. Voice.
Two big knobs do the work: how fast and high the song plays, and how natural the voice sounds. BODY and the SONG waveform do the rest.

The nightcore sped up effect
- A real speed-up. Tempo and pitch rise together, up to 150 %, like a record played fast.
- Chipmunk or natural. VOICE moves the singer's formants back down, at zero latency.
- Drop it, or learn it. A dropped song is sped up on the first play; a learned one on the second.
- The whole song on screen. The SONG waveform shows the playhead, and the song is saved with your session.
- SPEED (100 to 150 %, shown in semitones), VOICE (chipmunk to natural) and BODY (the nightcore EQ).
- LOAD, LEARN and CLEAR, the status line, the SONG waveform, and the CAPTURE, LENGTH and TEMPO readouts.
- MIX, IN and OUT trims on the meters, and ENGAGE.
- 10 factory presets and your own preset files; A/B, undo and redo, MIDI Learn on every control; a window from 75 to 200 %; the full manual.
LEARN · PLAY
Learn it once. Play it sped up.
Play the track once and Nightcore records it, untouched. Play again and it comes back sped up, mapped to your song position, saved with your session.
What Nightcore does
Every control has one job: the exact sped-up song you hear in your head, faster.
SPEED
Faster and higher, like a record
From 100 to 150 %. Tempo and pitch rise together, the true nightcore sound; the readout shows the rise in semitones (+3.9 at the default 125 %).
Drop a song
Sped up on the very first play
Drop a WAV, AIFF, FLAC, Ogg or MP3 on the plugin, or press LOAD. It is lined up with bar 1 of your project and the first play is already sped up.
LEARN, then PLAY
Two passes on any track or bus
On a fresh insert LEARN arms itself: the first play records the song and passes it through untouched. Stop, play again, and you hear it sped up.
Saved with your session
Reopen and it is still there
Every learned pass and every dropped song is saved to a capture cache on your computer and comes back when you reopen the session.
The SONG waveform
See the whole song
The learned or loaded song drawn across the bottom: the played part in cyan, the playhead where the sped-up song is now, the write head while LEARN records, and the cue where the next play starts.
VOICE
From chipmunk to natural
At 0 % the voice rises with the pitch, the classic chipmunk. Turn it up and the singer's formants move back down, until at 100 % they sound like themselves, only higher.
BODY
Warmth back in the mix
The nightcore equaliser: +2 dB of low end at 100 Hz and -1 dB at 3 kHz at 100 %, scaled from 0 to 200 %.
CAPTURE, LENGTH, TEMPO
Know exactly what you will get
How long the learned song is, how long the sped-up song will be, and your song's tempo raised by SPEED.
Seek and loop
Plays the right place every time
Jump or loop anywhere inside the song and the sped-up song plays the matching place from its first sample.
Zero latency
Even with VOICE on
Nightcore reads the song it holds ahead of time, so even the voice correction adds no latency at all.
MIX
Blend in the live track
The sped-up song against the live input, for a layered effect, or to hear what comes after the sped-up song ends.
10 sourced presets
Start from settings that work
Light, classic and chart-style lifts, a ballad lift, semitone and record speeds, one and a half times speed, a no-EQ version and a natural voice, each level-matched to the dry song.
A face that moves
See the speed
A cyan glow lights the stopwatch's dial with the music and speed streaks trail the logo at a rate set by SPEED. It rests in silence.
Inside the plugin
The Nightcore window: two big knobs, BODY, the LEARN and LOAD keys, and the whole song on screen.

How Nightcore compares
The whole sped-up sound in one insert, with the controls most leave out.
| Nightcore | Typical sped up plugins | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | An insert in your DAW, on any track or bus | An online maker, or files imported one at a time |
| Speed-up | A real varispeed, 100 to 150 %, tempo and pitch together | Often an offline file process |
| Voice | VOICE: chipmunk to natural | The chipmunk only |
| Getting the song in | Drop a file, or learn the track in one pass | Export, convert, import again |
| The song on screen | SONG waveform with playhead and cue | Nothing to see |
| Latency | 0 ms, even with VOICE | Often some, from the pitch shifter |
| Try-and-compare | A/B, A>B, undo and redo | Often missing |
| Hardware control | MIDI Learn on every control | Often host automation only |
| Licence | 5 computers per copy, no dongle, works offline | Often fewer activations, or a dongle |
| Updates | Lifetime updates included | Often paid upgrades |

Questions
Why does it need to learn the song first?
A plugin hears the song at normal speed, as your DAW plays it, and cannot play audio that has not arrived yet. So Nightcore plays back a song it already holds: drop the file on it, or let it record the track in one pass, then play again.
What is the quickest way?
Drop the song file on the plugin (WAV, AIFF, FLAC, Ogg or MP3), with the song lined up at the start of the project. The very first play is sped up.
How long is my export?
Shorter than the original: the sped-up song is 1 / SPEED as long, and the LENGTH readout shows it. Bounce the usual range and the end is silent.
Is the song still there when I reopen the project?
Yes. The learned or dropped song is saved to a capture cache on your computer and comes back with the session. If the file is gone, it says CAPTURE MISSING: LEARN AGAIN and plays the track unchanged until you do.
Can I avoid the chipmunk voice?
Yes. Turn VOICE up: at 100 % the singer keeps their own natural voice at the higher pitch. The Natural Voice preset does it.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 7 SP1 or later or macOS 10.13 or later. There is no standalone app.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. To move it, deactivate it in the plugin on the old computer and unlock it on the new one.
Does it need the internet?
Once, to unlock it with the code we email you. After that it checks in now and then and works offline in between.
Is there a manual?
Yes. The full manual explains every control, every preset and the menus, with tips. It opens from the help key (?) in the plugin's top bar, and lives at https://voxsamples.com/nightcore-sped-up-effect-manual.

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
- Ryan Svensson (Founder & CEO)
Every sped up song you've heard. One insert.
A real speed-up to 150 %, chipmunk or natural voice, the warmth kept, the whole song on screen, at zero latency.
