Terms of service

Last updated: 9 October 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and VOX SAMPLES PTY LTD (ABN 23 681 928 889), trading as Vox Samples ("Vox Samples", "we", "us", "our").

They apply when you:

  • use voxsamples.com;
  • create an account;
  • buy, download, activate or use our plug-ins, apps, sample packs, presets and other products ("Products");
  • otherwise use our services (together with the Products, the "Services").

By using the Services or placing an order, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Who can use the Services

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to buy Products or create an account. If you buy for a business, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.

2. Your account and activation

  • Keep it secure: keep your account and activation details secure and do not share them. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Internet connection: our paid plug-ins must be activated before use. This needs an internet connection, and a plug-in may check its licence online from time to time.
  • What activation sends: your email address, activation details, operating system and a machine identifier, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Misuse: we may suspend activation where we reasonably believe a licence is being shared, resold or misused.

3. Your software licence

Our Products are licensed to you, not sold. When you buy a Product, or download a free one, we grant you a personal, perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it on any number of computers that you own or personally use, under these Terms.

You may not:

  • share, lend, rent, sell, sublicense or otherwise transfer the Product, or your licence or activation details, to anyone else;
  • let other people use the Product under your licence, for example in a shared studio or classroom, unless we agree in writing;
  • copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble the Product, except to the extent the law allows despite this restriction;
  • remove, disable or get around any licence check, copy protection or technical limit;
  • use the Product to build a competing product, or to train machine-learning models on its sounds, presets or output for redistribution;
  • use the Product unlawfully or to infringe anyone's rights.

Trial versions, where offered, may only be used for evaluation for the trial period. Free Products are covered by the same licence. Some Products include third-party components, which are named in the Product's documentation together with any additional terms for them.

All rights not expressly granted to you remain with Vox Samples and its licensors.

4. The music you make

You own the music and audio you create with our Products. That includes audio made with our sounds, samples, presets and AI-assisted features (such as AI GEN). You may use it royalty-free in any way, including commercial releases, streaming, sync, film, games, broadcast and client work. You do not need to credit us.

However, you may not redistribute our samples, loops, presets or sound content on their own or in a form that lets others reuse them, whether original, edited or repackaged. For example, you may not:

  • sell or give them away as a sample pack, preset bank or library;
  • upload them to sample-sharing sites;
  • include them in another product.

5. Updates, compatibility and support

  • Updates: we may release updates that fix problems, add features or keep Products working with new systems. These Terms apply to updates too.
  • Compatibility: we list system requirements on each product page. We cannot promise that a Product will work with every host, operating system or future version of them.
  • Discontinued Products: if we discontinue a Product, we will take reasonable steps to keep your existing licence usable.
  • Support: email contact@voxsamples.com.

6. Prices, payment and taxes

  • Prices: shown at checkout, in the currency displayed. Prices may change, but a change does not affect an order we have already accepted.
  • Taxes: where required, they are included or added at checkout.
  • Payment: handled by our payment processors under their own terms.
  • Refusing or cancelling orders: we may refuse or cancel an order, for example because of an obvious pricing error or suspected fraud. If we do, we refund anything you paid.
  • Delivery: Products are delivered digitally, by download and activation, after payment is confirmed.

7. Refunds

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy. When an order is refunded, the licence for the refunded Products ends, and the Products may stop working at their next online check.

8. Using our website

You must not:

  • use the website unlawfully;
  • break or try to break its security;
  • upload malicious code;
  • scrape or harvest information from it, or collect other users' personal information;
  • send spam;
  • post content that is unlawful, misleading, abusive or infringes someone else's rights.

If you send us reviews, feedback, ideas or other content, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, edit and publish it, for example on our website and in our marketing. We will not attach your name to it without your permission.

9. Intellectual property

The Services and Products are owned by Vox Samples or its licensors and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. This includes:

  • software, sounds, presets and designs;
  • text, graphics and logos;
  • the Vox Samples name.

Other brand and product names on our site belong to their owners. We use them only to describe compatibility, and their use does not imply endorsement.

10. Third-party services and links

The Services may link to or work with third-party websites, platforms and software, such as payment providers, your digital audio workstation and social networks. We are not responsible for them. Their own terms and policies apply.

11. Your rights under consumer law

Our Products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If you are a consumer:

  • Major failure: you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
  • Minor failure: you are entitled to have the Product repaired or replaced if it fails to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

If you live outside Australia, you may also have mandatory rights under the consumer laws where you live. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty or term, that the law says cannot be excluded or limited ("Non-excludable Rights").

12. Warranties and liability

Apart from your Non-excludable Rights and anything we expressly promise in these Terms, the Services and Products are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that they will meet every particular need.

To the extent the law allows:

  • where a Non-excludable Right can be limited, our liability for a breach of it is limited, at our option, to supplying the Product again, or paying the cost of having it supplied again;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or projects;
  • our total liability to you for any claim about the Services or a Product is limited to the amount you paid us for that Product.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for anything that cannot be limited by law, such as fraud, or for personal injury caused by our negligence.

13. Indemnity

If you are using the Services for business purposes, you agree to compensate us for reasonable losses and costs (including legal costs) arising from a third-party claim caused by:

  • your breach of these Terms;
  • your unlawful use of the Services or Products;
  • content you supply.

14. Suspension and termination

  • Ending your account: you may stop using the Services at any time.
  • Termination for breach: we may suspend or end your account or a licence if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, for example by sharing or reselling licences or getting around copy protection. Where it is reasonable, we will first tell you and give you a chance to fix the problem.
  • After a licence ends: you must stop using the Product and delete it. Music you made while your licence was valid stays yours.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we will give you reasonable notice, for example by email or on the website. The Terms in force when you placed an order apply to that order.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of mandatory laws where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts where that law allows.

17. General

  • Entire agreement: these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.
  • Severability: if any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • No waiver: if we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
  • Transfer: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a buyer of our business, provided your rights are not reduced.
  • Platform: our store runs on Shopify, and payments are processed by our payment providers.
