Why LoFi Pro 2
Instant vintage character
Load a Machine, from a cassette deck to a 78 or an AM radio, and turn AGE. The whole track wears in one move.
A sound that's yours alone
Drag the eleven modules into any order. Noise into tape is not tape into noise, so your chain becomes your sound.
Every era of lo-fi, one plugin
70s tape, worn transports, crackle and groove wear, early-digital crush, 80s samplers, echo, plate, chorus and chop. One rack in place of a folder of lo-fi plugins.

One page. Every control.
The chain of eleven modules, the open module’s panel and the rail with AGE and FLUX, all in view at once.

The lo-fi rack
- Instant vintage character. Load a Machine, from a cassette deck to a 78 or an AM radio, and turn AGE: the whole track wears in one move.
- A sound that's yours alone. Drag the eleven modules into any order. Noise into tape is not tape into noise, so your chain becomes your sound.
- Every era of lo-fi, one plugin. 70s tape, worn transports, crackle, early-digital crush, 80s samplers, echo, plate, chorus and chop.
- Glue that stays level. SQUASH and AUTO GAIN keep it punchy and matched.
- 11 reorderable modules: MAGNETIC (70s tape and heads), WOBBLE (wow and flutter), NOISE (hiss, crackle and dust), CRUSH (bits and rate), SAMPLER (late-80s 12-bit), DIRT (drive), BAND (filters), SPACE (tape echo and plate), MOTION (chorus and vibrato), CHOP (tremolo and chopper) and SQUASH (vari-mu compression).
- 15 Machines in the preset menu: Cassette Deck, Portable Cassette, 4-Track Cassette, Microcassette, Reel to Reel, Video Hi-Fi, Vinyl 33, Warped 45, 78 Shellac, Sampler Vinyl Sim, 12-Bit Sampler, 8-Bit Toy, AM Radio, Phone Call and Bad Stream. Load one and the whole rack sketches that device.
- AGE pushes the whole rack towards worn: more drive, fewer bits, a darker top, more dust. FLUX sets how much it wanders.
- ANALOG UNIT 1, 2 and 3 with LINK: three characters to suit the track.
- One page: the chain, the open module and the rail, all 107 controls in view.
- Tempo-syncable tape echo and tremolo chop; AUTO GAIN loudness matching; MIX, IN and OUT.
- 250 presets, the Machines among them; A/B, undo and redo, MIDI Learn on every control; zero latency.

Late-80s 12-bit sampler

Chorus, ensemble and vibrato

Tremolo or a hard chop, free or synced to your tempo.
-

SQUASH
Vari-mu bus compressor
Bus compression with vari-mu character, parallel below 100% mix.
Machines
Fifteen Machines in the preset menu. Load one and the whole rack is set to sketch that device, its picture in the module’s window.
-

CASSETTE DECK
Tape
A decent home deck: a low head bump, a steady transport, a little compression and tape hiss.
-

PORTABLE CASSETTE
Tape
The same tape through a portable player: a slipping belt, an under-biased head and batteries on the way out.
-

4-TRACK CASSETTE
Tape
Cassette at double speed, recorded hot into a small mixer.
-

MICROCASSETTE
Tape
A dictation recorder: no bottom, no top, heavy compression and plenty of flutter.
-

REEL TO REEL
Tape
15 ips on a studio machine: nearly no wobble, just drift, head bump and the tape itself.
-

VIDEO HI-FI
Tape
A home video recorder’s hi-fi track: fast flutter, a touch of chorus and a compander pumping underneath.
-

VINYL 33
Vinyl
A record in decent condition: 33 1/3 rpm wow, a worn groove, a little dust and mono bass.
-

WARPED 45
Vinyl
A single left on a car dashboard: everything the 33 does, exaggerated.
-

78 SHELLAC
Vinyl
Acoustic-era bandwidth, 130 Hz to 4 kHz, mono, with a surface that is more noise than record.
-

SAMPLER VINYL SIM
Sampler
A groovebox sampler’s vinyl effect: hard compression, one slow heavy wow and a dull noise bed.
-

12-BIT SAMPLER
Sampler
A late-80s 12-bit sampler: companded grit that sits at a steady level below the music.
-

8-BIT TOY
Sampler
A catalogue keyboard sampler: 8 bits, 9.4 kHz, a hard-driven output and a tiny speaker.
-

AM RADIO
Radio and phone
A station at the edge of its range: the AM band, an overdriven receiver and a slow fade.
-

PHONE CALL
Radio and phone
300 Hz to 3.4 kHz, companded to eight bits, mono and squashed.
-

BAD STREAM
Digital
A re-encode of a re-encode on a bad connection, cutting in and out.

Drag to reorder
The order is the point
Noise into saturation is not saturation into noise. Drag the eleven modules into the order you want to hear.
What LoFi Pro 2 does
Every control is there to get you to a sound with history, faster.

15 Machines
A whole device, straight from the preset menu
Cassette Deck, Portable Cassette, 4-Track Cassette, Microcassette, Reel To Reel, Video Hi-Fi, Vinyl 33, Warped 45, 78 Shellac, Sampler Vinyl Sim, 12-Bit Sampler, 8-Bit Toy, AM Radio, Phone Call and Bad Stream. Each sets the whole rack, chain order included, and sounds the same whatever you loaded before.

The chain
The order is the sound
Drag any module left or right. Put the hiss before the tape and it gets recorded through it; put it last and it sits on top. The twelve Chain Tricks presets show what each move does.

AGE and FLUX
Two knobs age the whole rack
AGE pushes every switched-on module towards worn: more tape drive, fewer bits, a darker top, more dust. FLUX turns up the wander in the tape, the wobble, the echo and the chorus.

DIRT and BAND
From warm drive to telephone
A raw overdrive or five analog-style distortion curves, on the whole sound or one band. Band-limit filters to 48 dB per octave, a tilt, mono bass, and presets from Telephone and AM Radio to Megaphone, Cassette, Vinyl and Underwater.

One page, every control
Nothing hidden, nothing to dig for
The chain, the open module and the rail with AGE, FLUX, MIX, IN and OUT, all in view at once. The footer explains whatever you point at.

250 presets
Start from a finished sound
Fifteen categories: Machines, Drums & Loops, Keys & Pads, Vocals, Guitars & Bass, Mix Bus & Master, Tape & Wobble, Vinyl & Dust, Digital & Crush, Radio & Phone, Space & Echo, Motion & Chop, Chain Tricks, Sound Design and Utility.
Three analog units
Pick the character that suits the track
Choose the character, not just the settings. Three analog units: the same circuit, voiced like three boxes off the same bench. Switch between 1, 2 and 3 and keep the one that sits best in the mix. LINK keeps left and right identical, or lets the two channels differ slightly, like a real stereo unit. The unit you pick is saved with your session.
MAGNETIC and WOBBLE
Real tape, real wear
A 70s reel-to-reel tape machine with drive, bias, head bump and a noise-reduction encode/decode, plus worn, shedding tape. Then a worn transport's flutter, wow and drift, from subtle to seasick.
NOISE
Crackle that lives in the music
A vintage hiss-and-rumble bed that can follow or duck under the music, tape-dust crackle that erodes attacks into crunch, and worn-stylus groove wear. GATE silences the bed when your transport stops.
CRUSH and SAMPLER
Early-digital grit, exactly where you want it
An early-digital bit and rate crusher, 16 bits down to 1, with FOCUS to crush only one band. A late-80s 12-bit sampler's converter, down to 4 bits, with its steep output filter.
SPACE, MOTION and CHOP
Movement and space, in time with your track
A tape echo, free or synced to your tempo, into a vintage studio plate and a room. Classic or 70s ensemble chorus, tape-warble vibrato and an auto-panner. A tube-amp tremolo or a square-wave chopper, synced to the beat.
SQUASH and AUTO GAIN
Glue that stays level
A vari-mu bus compressor with parallel mix. AUTO GAIN matches the rack's loudness to the input to the broadcast standard, so you hear character, not a louder track.
MIDI Learn
Take complete control of your workflow
Map any of the 107 controls to a knob or fader on your MIDI controller: choose MIDI Learn, move the knob, click the control. Mappings save with your session.

Questions
Won't it just lay cheap noise on top?
No. The noise bed can follow the music or duck under it, DUST erodes the attacks themselves into crunch, and where a module sits in the chain changes what it does. Drag NOISE to the start and the hiss is recorded through the tape, not pasted on top.
Where do I start?
Open the preset menu, load one of the Machines, then turn AGE. Click any module in the chain to see and change what it does.
Will it change my level?
AUTO GAIN matches the output's loudness to the input's, and it is on in every factory preset, so you hear the character, not a louder or quieter track.
Can I use it on a full mix or master?
Yes. The Mix Bus & Master category has 18 presets kept gentle for whole mixes: part-mix tape, hiss floors, a little wow, mono bass and glue. It adds no latency.
Does it follow my tempo?
The tape echo and the tremolo chop can both lock to your session's tempo, in straight, dotted and triplet divisions. Switch SYNC off to set them freely.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 10 and 11 or macOS 11 and later. The installer puts each format where your DAW looks for it.
How many computers, and does it need the internet?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. It needs the internet once, to unlock with the code we email you; after that it checks in now and then and works offline in between. To move it, choose Licence > Deactivate this computer on the old one.
What if it's not for me?

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
- Ryan Svensson (Founder & CEO)
Give every track a past.
