The only robot voice you'll ever need to sound like a machine on cue.
Turn any vocal into a metallic robot in one insert: stack up to eight voices, tune the robot to your song's key or play it from MIDI, then filter it and put it in a room, a plate or space. No carrier synth, no routing.

Hear the difference
The same dry vocal, without and with Robojaw.
Male lead vocal
A dry male verse · Init (8 ms stack, locked to one note)
Female lead vocal
A dry female verse · Reverb / Sci-Fi Plate
Rap vocal
A dry male rap · Filter / Walkie-Talkie Robot
Pop vocal room
A dry female verse · Reverb / Short Bright Room
Every clip is level-matched, so the difference you hear is tone, not volume.
Why Robojaw
A robot in one knob
Turn VOICES up and the voice locks onto one metallic note: one is a light ring, eight is a full machine. No vocoder, no carrier synth, no sidechain.
Always in your key
PITCH snaps to musical notes, so the robot hums in the song's key. Or play it from MIDI and the robot sings the melody you hold.
Finished in the box
METAL for the classic sci-fi ring, a FILTER for phones, radios and walkie-talkies, and a ROOM, PLATE or SPACE reverb, all on the robot.
Voices. Pitch.
Two big knobs do the work: how robotic, and which note it rings on. Everything else fine-tunes the machine.

The robot voice effect
- A robot in one knob. One to eight robot stages, every step level-matched.
- Always in your key. PITCH snaps to musical notes, or hold a MIDI note and the robot sings it.
- Every robot sound. The sci-fi ring, telephone and walkie-talkie robots, a metal box, a sci-fi plate, deep space.
- Safe and instant. Zero latency, and resonant peaks held under -1 dBFS.
- VOICES (1 to 8), PITCH (B1 to B3) with SNAP, and MIDI-played notes with a 20 ms glide.
- FEEDBACK (0 to 99 %), TONE and METAL, a 30 Hz ring modulator.
- FILTER (low-, band- or high-pass, CUTOFF and RES) and REVERB (ROOM, PLATE or SPACE, AMOUNT and SIZE).
- MIX, input and output meters with automatable input and output gain, ENGAGE, and an output safety stage.
- 26 factory presets and your own preset files; A/B, undo and redo, MIDI Learn on every control; a window from 75 to 200 %; the full manual.
FILTER · REVERB
Place the robot anywhere.
A low-pass, band-pass or high-pass for telephone and walkie-talkie robots, then a metal room, a sci-fi plate or a huge space.
What Robojaw does
Every control has one job: the exact robot you hear in your head, faster.
VOICES
From a hint of metal to a full machine
One to eight short feedback stages in series. Each one you add locks the voice harder onto one note: more voices, more robot. Every step is level-matched and crossfades without a click.
PITCH and SNAP
The robot hums in your key
The note the robot rings on, from B1 to B3. With SNAP on it steps through musical notes and reads the note name; off, it tunes freely in hertz.
Sing it from MIDI
Play the robot's melody
Hold a MIDI note and the robot rings on it, folded into its range, from the very sample it arrives on, with a 20 ms glide. Let go and PITCH takes over again.
FEEDBACK
How long the metal rings
Each stage's feedback, 0 to 99 %. Higher rings longer and buzzier; a soft limit in every loop keeps it stable even at the top.
TONE
Smooth the robot's edge
A low-pass on the robot, from 1 kHz up to OPEN, to take the fizz off a bright voice.
METAL
The classic sci-fi ring
A 30 Hz ring modulator blended into the robot: the old-school movie robot sound, from a touch to fully metallic.
FILTER
Telephones, radios and tiny speakers
Off, low-pass, band-pass or high-pass after the robot, with CUTOFF from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and RES (Q 0.3 to 10). Four presets set up a telephone, an 80s computer, a tinny speaker and a walkie-talkie.
REVERB
A room, a plate or deep space
ROOM (0.04 to 2.3 s), PLATE (1.3 to 3.8 s) or SPACE (4 to 12 s) on the robot, with AMOUNT and SIZE. SIZE shows the decay time in seconds.
MIX
Full robot or a blend
Robot against the dry voice, equal power. 100 % for a full robot, 30 to 50 % to keep the words clear under it.
Output safety
Loud rings stay under control
A transparent safety stage on the robot holds resonant peaks under -1 dBFS, so a note that lands on the robot's pitch cannot jump out at you. The dry voice is never touched.
26 sourced presets
Start from settings that work
Voice ladders, pitches for low and high voices, blends, telephone and radio robots, a played robot lead and reverb spaces, every one level-matched to the dry vocal.
A face that moves
See the machine work
The robot's eyes glow with the output and its mouth lights up to the number of voices. It pauses when you bypass, and costs under 1 % of a CPU core.
Inside the plugin
The Robojaw window: two big knobs, the robot's own controls, a filter and a reverb.

How Robojaw compares
A full robot voice in one insert, with the controls most leave out.
| Robojaw | Typical robot voice plugins | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | One insert on the vocal, nothing to route | A vocoder with a carrier synth and a sidechain |
| How robotic | VOICES: 1 to 8 stages, every step level-matched | One fixed amount |
| In key | PITCH snaps to notes, or follows MIDI | A fixed buzz, often off-key |
| Sci-fi ring | METAL ring modulator built in | A second plugin |
| Phone and radio robots | FILTER with low-, band- and high-pass | A separate EQ |
| Space | ROOM, PLATE and SPACE reverbs on the robot | A separate reverb |
| Latency | 0 ms | Often some, from the analysis |
| Safety | Resonant peaks held under -1 dBFS | Feedback can run away |
| Try-and-compare | A/B, A>B, undo and redo | Often missing |
| Hardware control | MIDI Learn on every control | Often host automation only |
| Licence | 5 computers per copy, no dongle, works offline | Often fewer activations, or a dongle |
| Updates | Lifetime updates included | Often paid upgrades |

Questions
Do I need a synth or MIDI to make it sound robotic?
No. Put it on the vocal and it is a robot straight away: VOICES sets how robotic, PITCH which note. MIDI is optional, for a robot that sings a melody.
Will the robot be in key with my song?
Yes. With SNAP on, PITCH steps through musical notes, so pick the song's key note. Or hold a MIDI note and the robot follows it.
How do I keep the words understandable?
Lower MIX to 30 to 50 % (the Blend presets), use fewer VOICES, or a little TONE. The robot keeps the voice's vowels, so the words stay clear.
Can it do the telephone or walkie-talkie robot?
Yes. The FILTER does both, and the Filter presets set up a telephone, an 80s computer, a tinny speaker and a walkie-talkie robot.
Can I use it live?
Yes. It adds no latency, so you can sing or play through it in real time.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 7 SP1 or later or macOS 10.13 or later. There is no standalone app.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. To move it, deactivate it in the plugin on the old computer and unlock it on the new one.
Does it need the internet?
Once, to unlock it with the code we email you. After that it checks in now and then and works offline in between.
Is there a manual?
Yes. The full manual explains every control, every preset and the menus, with tips. It opens from the help key (?) in the plugin's top bar, and lives at https://voxsamples.com/robojaw-robot-voice-effect-manual.

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
- Ryan Svensson (Founder & CEO)
Every robot voice you've heard. One insert.
Eight voices, tuned to your key or your MIDI, with metal, a filter and three reverbs, at zero latency.
