EnunciatorVocal EQ effect · low cut, mud, presence, air and de-ess in four knobs
The only vocal EQ you'll ever need for a vocal that cuts through.
Every vocal EQ guide gives the same five steps: low cut, take out the mud, lift the presence, add air, tame the esses. Enunciator does all five in four knobs, and the cuts react to the voice, acting only on the boomy word, the harsh note or the sharp ess.

Enunciator in action
Why Enunciator
The cheat sheet, built in
Low cut, mud, presence, air and de-ess, set from the vocal EQ guides, in the order engineers use: cut the problems first, then lift. No parametric EQ to learn, no separate de-esser.
Cuts that react
The mud cut, the harshness limit and the ess cut each act only while their problem jumps out, and leave the voice alone the rest of the time, so it keeps its body and its top.
Your level, kept
An automatic make-up holds the vocal at the loudness it came in at, so a brighter voice never fools you by being louder. The curve card shows every cut as it happens.
Clean. Presence.
Two big knobs do most of it: the low end and mud out of the voice, and the words lifted forward.

The vocal EQ effect
- Cuts that react. Mud, harshness and esses are cut only when they jump out.
- De-esser built in. Up to 10 dB at 5 to 9 kHz, only on the esses.
- Your level, kept. An automatic make-up holds the vocal at its input loudness.
- Zero latency. Sing, rap or talk through it live.
- CLEAN, PRESENCE, AIR and DE-ESS; LOW or HIGH VOICE; the live curve card.
- MIX, IN and OUT with meters, and ENGAGE.
- 14 factory presets and your own preset files; A/B, undo and redo, MIDI Learn on every control; a window from 75 to 200 %; the full manual.
THE CURVE
See every cut as it happens.
The curve card shows the EQ live: MUD, HARSH and ESS light up and dip only on the words that need it.
What Enunciator does
Every control has one job: a vocal that cuts through, faster.
CLEAN
Rumble and mud out
One knob raises the low cut from 60 to 122.5 Hz and deepens a mud cut, up to 6 dB, that acts only on boomy words. 40 % by default; the line reads the low cut.
PRESENCE
The words step forward
A lift at 3.5 kHz, 0 to +5 dB (+2 by default). A harshness limit gives it back whenever a note turns harsh, so the lift never bites.
AIR
Breath and sparkle
A high shelf from 10 kHz, 0 to +5 dB (+1.5 by default), its corner rising to 12 kHz at the top so the air stays above the esses.
DE-ESS
Sharp esses tamed
A cut at 5 to 9 kHz that acts only on the esses, up to 10 dB at 100 % (3 dB at the default 30 %). The voice keeps its top between them.
VOICE
Low or high voice
HIGH VOICE moves the low cut, the mud band and the presence lift up, for a higher singing or speaking voice. Click-free.
The curve card
See the EQ work
The EQ's curve, live: MUD, HARSH and ESS each show the cut they make now, lit while they act. LEVEL MATCH shows the automatic make-up.
MIX
Blend with the dry
The EQ'd voice against the dry, 100 % by default.
IN and OUT
Gain where you need it
Input and output gain, -24 to +24 dB, with meters. A safety stage holds the output under -1 dBFS.
14 sourced presets
Start from settings that work
Pop leads, upfront rap, bedroom whispers, rock bite, podcast voices, thin, boomy, harsh and spitty fixes, airy tops, melodic trap and a steep mix rescue.
A face that moves
Watch the air clear
The haze round the microphone parts as the EQ works and drifts back as it lets go; the grille glows with the output.
Inside the plugin

How Enunciator compares
The whole vocal EQ cheat sheet, with cuts that react to the voice.
| Enunciator | Typical vocal EQ plugins | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Four knobs, set from the vocal EQ guides | Dozens of bands to place by ear |
| Mud and harshness | Cuts only when they jump out | Static cuts that thin the whole voice |
| De-essing | Built in | A separate plugin |
| Level | Automatic make-up to the input's loudness | Louder with every boost |
| Latency | 0 ms | Often look-ahead latency |
| See it | A live curve with every cut | A static curve |
| Try-and-compare | A/B, A>B, undo and redo | Often missing |
| Hardware control | MIDI Learn on every control | Often host automation only |
| Licence | 5 computers per copy, no dongle, works offline | Often fewer activations, or a dongle |
| Updates | Lifetime updates included | Often paid upgrades |

Questions
How do I EQ a vocal with it?
Start on the default, Modern Pop Lead. Turn CLEAN up until the low thump and mud are gone, PRESENCE until the words sit forward, AIR for breath on top, and DE-ESS until the esses stop jumping out. Pick HIGH VOICE for a higher voice.
Do I still need a de-esser?
Usually not. DE-ESS cuts 5 to 9 kHz only on the esses, up to 10 dB, and the harshness limit keeps the presence lift from biting.
Why do the cuts come and go?
They react to the voice: the mud cut acts on boomy words, the harshness limit on harsh notes and the ess cut on esses, and each lets go in between. A static cut would dull the whole voice.
Will it make my vocal louder?
No. An automatic make-up brings the output back to the loudness the vocal came in at, so you hear the tone and not a level jump.
Does it work on a podcast or a voice-over?
Yes. Speech / Podcast Low Voice and Speech / Podcast High Voice are set for talking, and there is no latency, so you can record through it.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 7 SP1 or later or macOS 10.13 or later. There is no standalone app.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. To move it, deactivate it in the plugin on the old computer and unlock it on the new one.
Does it need the internet?
Once, to unlock it with the code we email you. After that it checks in now and then and works offline in between.
Is there a manual?
Yes. The full manual explains every control, every preset and the menus, with tips. It opens from the help key (?) in the plugin's top bar, and lives at https://voxsamples.com/enunciator-vocal-eq-effect-manual.

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
