Why VS-Q4
Air without the bite
AIR starts as high as 40 kHz, so its gentle slope lifts the openness you hear without pushing the harsh frequencies.
Broad, musical bands
2.5 kHz, 650, 160, 40 and the sub: shape the whole tone in a few wide strokes.
See the real dB, stay level
The response pane shows the curve over the spectrum and every band's dB beside its dial, and LEVEL TRIM brings a big boost back down for fair comparisons.
Open the top. Keep it smooth.
The module on the left, the curve over the live spectrum on the right, with every band's dB beside its dial.

What VS-Q4 does
One air shelf, five broad bands and a trim: every control has one job.
AIR
Choose where the air starts
Off, 2.5, 5, 10, 20 or 40 kHz. Start it high and its gentle slope lifts the openness without the harsh frequencies.
AIR GAIN
How much air
From 0 to 10 in twenty steps, as the dial prints them.
2.5 kHz
Presence and edge
A shelf from 2.5 kHz up, twenty steps either way.
650 Hz and 160 Hz
Body in, or boxiness and mud out
Broad bells at 650 Hz and 160 Hz, twenty steps each on their 5-0-5 dials.
40 Hz and SUB
The bottom, and the weight under it
A broad bell at 40 Hz for kick and bass, and the sub band around 10 Hz beneath it.
LEVEL TRIM
Stay level
Down to -24 dB after the EQ, so a big boost comes back for a fair comparison.
The response pane
See the real dB
The curve over the spectrum, a draggable node per band, and each band's dB beside its dial reading. Hide it when you are done.
One analog unit, built in
The small differences of real hardware
VS-Q4 carries the small part tolerances of a single analog unit, each side its own, in every setting. One fixed unit: nothing to choose, nothing to set up.

How VS-Q4 compares
Air from as high as 40 kHz, in broad, musical strokes.
| VS-Q4 | Typical air EQ plugins | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the air starts | Off, 2.5, 5, 10, 20 or 40 kHz | One fixed high shelf |
| The top end | A gentle slope from as high as 40 kHz | A plain shelf that lifts hiss and bite too |
| Band shape | Broad, musical bands | Narrow bands that take longer to set |
| Reading the moves | Each band's measured dB beside its dial | A dial number only |
| Seeing the curve | The curve over the live spectrum | Often knobs only |
| Level after a boost | LEVEL TRIM, down to -24 dB | Louder often passes for better |
| Analog character | One analog unit, built in, each side its own | Both sides identical |
"Typical" describes what we commonly see in this category; it does not describe any particular product. VS-Q4 facts are from the plugin and its manual, October 2026.

Questions
What does VS-Q4 do?
It is an air EQ: a shelf that starts at 2.5, 5, 10, 20 or 40 kHz to open up the top, and five broad bands at 2.5 kHz, 650 Hz, 160 Hz, 40 Hz and the sub to shape the body. A live curve over the spectrum shows what you are doing.
Which tracks is it for?
Vocals and masters most of all, and anything whose top end sounds closed: buses, acoustic instruments and samples.
How is it different from a plain high shelf?
A plain high shelf lifts the hiss and the bite along with the air. VS-Q4's AIR shelf can start as high as 40 kHz, so its gentle slope lifts the openness you hear without pushing the harsh frequencies, and its bands are broad, so a few moves shape the whole tone.
Why do the knobs read 5-0-5 and not dB?
They read as the dial prints them, in twenty steps. The response pane shows each band's measured dB beside its dial.
What does "one analog unit, built in" mean?
VS-Q4 carries the small part tolerances of a single analog unit, each side its own, in every setting. It is one fixed unit: there is no unit selector and nothing to set up.
Which formats and systems does it run on?
VST3 and AAX on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit); VST3, AU and AAX on macOS 11 or later. It works in any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plugins.
Does it add latency?
No. VS-Q4 has zero latency.

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
