Hype Man in action
Why Hype Man
Your whole mic chain, one plugin
A streamer voice usually takes five or six filters set by hand: a low cut, noise and hiss reduction, a gate, a de-esser, a compressor, an EQ and a limiter. Hype Man is that chain, in order, already set up for your mic.
Zero latency, light on CPU
No delay at any setting or sample rate, so your voice never drifts from your face cam. About 5 % of one processor core, so it sits happily beside your game and your encoder.
Never too quiet, never too loud
The auto level brings a quiet mic up and a hot one down to -18 LUFS. It holds still while you are silent or muted, so an unmute never blasts, and a scream comes out under -3 dBFS on every mic.
Clean. Even.
Two big knobs do the work: CLEAN takes the room away between your sentences and EVEN keeps your level steady. TONE and DE-ESS finish the voice.

The streaming voice plugin
- The room gone between sentences. A gate that follows your room, with noise and hiss reduction, never dead silence.
- A steady streaming level. The auto level brings a quiet mic up and a hot one down to -18 LUFS, and holds still while you are muted.
- No clipping. A scream comes out under -3 dBFS on every mic.
- Zero latency. Your voice never drifts from your face cam, and it is light beside your game and encoder.
- CLEAN and EVEN, the two big knobs; TONE (WARM to CLEAR) and DE-ESS.
- MIC: USB, DYNAMIC or HEADSET; LISTEN to hear what CLEAN removes.
- The LEVEL readout, GATE, DE-ESS and COMP meters and the ON AIR lamp; MIX, IN and OUT with meters, and ENGAGE.

MIC
Set up for your mic.
USB condenser, broadcast dynamic or gaming headset: one click sets the low cut, the hiss reduction, the de-esser's band and the boost for the mic you own.
What Hype Man does
Every control has one job: the streamer voice you hear in your head, live.
CLEAN
The room gone between sentences
Takes hiss, a PC fan and the room away between your sentences, three ways at once: noise reduction, hiss reduction and a gate. Each is held to a 6 to 10 dB cut, so the pauses never fall into dead silence. The line under it reads OFF, LIGHT, ROOM, FAN or HEAVY.
A gate that follows your room
Closes on your room, not a guess
The gate reads your room's quiet level between your words and closes about 5 dB above it, so a fan 20 to 30 dB under your voice is taken 5 to 7 dB further down. It never closes so high that a word's start is cut.
EVEN
A steady streaming level
The compressor and the auto level on one knob. The default takes about 4 dB off your speech while you talk, with automatic makeup, and lets a quiet mic be brought up as far as the line under it says: UP TO +12 DB.
Auto level
Quiet mic up, hot mic down
A slow loudness follower brings your voice to -18 LUFS. It ignores the room, holds still in silence and in a mute, and remembers 15 seconds back, so the talk after a scream comes straight back to its level.
TONE
Warmer or clearer
One knob from WARM to CLEAR: left lifts the 150 Hz body and softens the top, right lifts the 4.5 kHz presence and the 10 kHz air, up to 6 dB at the ends. Level-matched, so louder never fools your ears.
DE-ESS
Harsh esses softened
A split-band de-esser tuned for each mic. The default takes about 3 dB off the loudest esses.
MIC
USB, DYNAMIC or HEADSET
USB: a 75 Hz low cut and hiss reduction for a condenser's self-noise. DYNAMIC: 6 dB more boost, a touch of 4.5 kHz presence and no hiss reduction. HEADSET: a 150 Hz low cut for thumps and pops, with hiss reduction.
Voice limiter
A shout never clips
A limiter at -3 dBFS after the compressor holds a clipped scream under -3 dBFS on every mic, and a safety stage keeps every peak under -1 dBFS.
LEVEL and the meters
See what every stage is doing
The strip on the desk shows how far your mic is being brought up, to half a decibel, and how hard the GATE, DE-ESS and COMP are working, each up to 20 dB.
ON AIR lamp
Know when you are on
The red lamp lights while your voice is on and goes out when the gate closes on the room, when you are muted and when the effect is bypassed.
LISTEN
Hear what CLEAN removes
Plays only what CLEAN takes away: you should hear fan, hiss and room, no words. A quick check before you go live.
13 sourced presets
Start from settings that work
Just Talking, fan and aircon rooms, clicky keyboards, USB hiss, screaming into a headset, broadcast dynamics, deep voices, sharp esses, quiet talkers, singing streams and the radio voice, every one at the same loudness.

Questions
How do I use it in OBS?
Right-click your microphone in the Audio Mixer, choose Filters, then the + button. If your OBS lists a VST3 plug-in filter, use it and pick Hype Man. OBS's own VST filter loads only older VST 2 plug-ins, so if yours has no VST3 filter, add the atkAudio Plugin Host filter and pick Hype Man inside it. The manual walks you through it.
Does it work in XSplit and vMix?
Yes. XSplit Broadcaster 4.2 and later and vMix load VST3 plug-ins natively: add Hype Man to your microphone's audio effects. Other streaming apps that load VST3 or AU plug-ins work the same way; Streamlabs Desktop has not been tested yet, so we do not promise it.
Will it delay my voice?
No. Hype Man has zero latency at every setting and every sample rate, so your voice stays in sync with your face cam and your game.
How do I make my mic sound like a streamer?
Add Hype Man to your mic, pick USB, DYNAMIC or HEADSET for the mic you own, and talk: Just Talking is already the classic streamer voice. Raise EVEN for a steadier, more radio-like level, and turn TONE left for warmth or right for clarity.
Can it take away a PC fan or a clicky keyboard?
Hiss and a normal room, yes. A fan 20 to 30 dB under your voice is taken 5 to 7 dB further down between sentences, and Noise / Fan and Aircon goes further. A very loud fan close to the mic, or typing right next to it, needs your streaming app's own noise filter placed before Hype Man; Hype Man then does the rest of the chain.
Will an unmute or a shout blast my viewers?
No. The auto level holds still while you are muted or silent, so you come back at the level you left, and the voice limiter keeps a clipped scream under -3 dBFS on every mic.
Why does the room come back for a moment after I stop talking?
The gate holds for 200 ms and fades over 150 ms, as a streaming app's own gate does, so the pauses between words keep their room and nothing chops your words.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 7 SP1 or later or macOS 10.13 or later. There is no standalone app.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. To move it, deactivate it in the plugin on the old computer and unlock it on the new one.
Does it need the internet?
Once, to unlock it with the code we email you. After that it checks in now and then and works offline in between.
Is there a manual?
Yes. The full manual explains every control, every preset and the menus, with tips. It opens from the help key (?) in the plugin's top bar, and lives at https://voxsamples.com/hype-man-streaming-voice-effect-manual.
What if it's not for me?

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
