WobbleTroubleWobble filter effect · tempo-synced, sub kept steady, 3 filter types
The only wobble filter you'll ever need to make anything wub on the beat.
Put the classic wobble bass on any bass, synth or loop in one insert: a resonant filter that opens and closes on your song's grid, grit that growls as it opens, and the sub held steady underneath. No synth patching, no LFO routing.

Hear the difference
The same sound, without and with WobbleTrouble.
Classic wobble bass
A distorted synth bass, 150 BPM · CLASSIC WOBBLE (1/8T)
Gated saw bass
A bright saw bass line, 128 BPM · GATED STUTTER (1/8)
Reese in triplets
A wide reese bass, 174 BPM · LIQUID TRIPLETS (1/16T)
Pad chords
Warm synth pad chords, 118 BPM · SMOOTH QUARTERS (1/4)
Every clip is level-matched, so the difference you hear is tone, not volume.
Why WobbleTrouble
Wub on the first play
Insert it and the sound wobbles in eighth-note triplets, locked to your song's tempo and grid. Every bounce is identical, wherever playback starts.
The sub stays solid
SUB KEEP holds everything below 60 or 120 Hz steady, so the low end never pumps while the wobble moves above it.
Growl, yelp or talk
DRIVE after the filter growls as it opens, RESONANCE adds the yelp, and TYPE switches to a band-pass for the talking wobble or a high-pass for a thin one.
Rate. Depth.
Two big knobs do the work: how fast it wobbles, on your song's grid, and how far the filter opens. Everything else shapes the wub.

The wobble filter effect
- Wub on the beat. Seventeen note values locked to your song's tempo and grid; every bounce identical.
- A solid low end. The sub below 60 or 120 Hz never wobbles.

- Instant. Zero latency, and every preset level-matched to the dry sound.
- RATE (1/1 to 1/32T, straight, dotted and triplet) and DEPTH (up to six octaves).
- CUTOFF (40 Hz to 12 kHz), RESONANCE, DRIVE after the filter, and PITCH, a tape-style wobble.

SHAPE · SUB KEEP · RETRIG · TYPE
Every wobble in one bar.
A smooth sine, an even triangle, a gated square or a saw fall; the sub held out of it; a restart on every bar; and three filter types.
What WobbleTrouble does
Every control has one job: the exact wobble you hear in your head, faster.
RATE
Locked to your song's tempo
Seventeen note values from a whole bar to 1/32 triplets, straight, dotted and triplet, on the song's grid while it plays. The readout under the knob shows one wobble's length at your tempo.
DEPTH
From a hint to a full sweep
How far each wobble opens the filter above CUTOFF, up to six octaves at 100 %. The readout shows where the sweep tops out: 2.76 kHz at the default.
CUTOFF
Where every wob starts
The floor of each wobble, from 40 Hz to 12 kHz. Low for a deep, dark wub; higher to keep a full mix or a loop audible.
RESONANCE
The vocal yelp
A peak at the filter's edge that makes the wobble talk. Even at 100 % it rings hard but stays short of whistling on its own.
DRIVE
Grit that follows the sweep
Distortion after the filter, so the sound growls harder as it opens, the way producers build a wobble bass.
SHAPE
Smooth, even, gated or a fall
SINE for a rounded wobble, TRIANGLE for the classic even wub, SQUARE for a gated on-off stutter, SAW DOWN to open on the beat and fall. Every shape but SAW DOWN is closed on the beat.
SUB KEEP
A low end that never pumps
Splits off everything below 60 or 120 Hz and passes it untouched, so a bass keeps its weight while the top wobbles. OFF wobbles the whole sound.
TYPE
Classic, talking or thin
LP24 for the classic wub, BP12 for a hollow, talking wobble, HP12 for a thin, top-end wobble. Switching crossfades over 20 ms, without a click.
RETRIG
Back on the bar line
Restarts the wobble at every bar, so odd and dotted rates line up with the downbeat again.
PITCH
The tape wobble too
A tape-style wow and flutter on top of everything, for lo-fi warble. Use it with the filter or alone: the Tape Wobble preset opens the filter and leaves only the pitch.
MIX
Full wobble or a blend
The wobbled sound against the dry, for a moving layer over an untouched source.
17 sourced presets
Start from settings that work
Classic and deep wubs, every common rate, gated and falling shapes, sub settings, bar sync, talking band-pass and thin high-pass wobbles, and a tape wobble, each level-matched to the dry sound.
A face that moves
See the wobble
A neon ring rises behind the hill as the filter opens and a bright wave runs across the grid once per wobble. It rests when you bypass or the sound stops.

How WobbleTrouble compares
The whole wobble bass recipe in one insert, with the controls most leave out.
| WobbleTrouble | Typical wobble plugins | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | One insert on any bass, synth or loop | A synth patch with an LFO routed to its filter |
| Timing | 17 rates locked to the song's grid | A free-running LFO, or a few rates |
| Low end | SUB KEEP holds the sub steady | The sub wobbles with everything else |
| Grit | DRIVE after the filter, built in | A second plugin |
| Filter types | Low-pass, band-pass and high-pass | Low-pass only, or dozens to wade through |
| Tape wobble | PITCH built in | A separate plugin |
| Latency | 0 ms | Sometimes some |
| Try-and-compare | A/B, A>B, undo and redo | Often missing |
| Hardware control | MIDI Learn on every control | Often host automation only |
| Licence | 5 computers per copy, no dongle, works offline | Often fewer activations, or a dongle |
| Updates | Lifetime updates included | Often paid upgrades |

Questions
What should I put it on?
A saw or reese bass, or any held synth or loop with plenty of harmonics. A filter wobble moves the harmonics that are there, so on a pure sine sub or a very sparse sound it does little.
Will it stay in time with my song?
Yes. While the song plays the wobble sits on its grid, wherever playback starts, and every bounce is identical. Stopped, it keeps running at the song's tempo.
Will it ruin my low end?
No. SUB KEEP, on 120 Hz by default, holds everything below it steady while the wobble moves above. Choose 60 Hz to keep only the deepest notes, or OFF to wobble everything.
Can it do the talking wobble?
Yes. Set TYPE to BP12, or start from Vocal Band-Pass or Talking Sixteenths, which sweep the mids with the sub kept under them.
Can it do a tape wobble?
Yes. PITCH adds a tape-style wow and flutter, and the Tape Wobble preset opens the filter so only the pitch moves.
Does it work in my DAW?
Any 64-bit DAW that loads VST3, AU or AAX plug-ins, on Windows 7 SP1 or later or macOS 10.13 or later. There is no standalone app.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to five of your own for each copy you buy. To move it, deactivate it in the plugin on the old computer and unlock it on the new one.
Does it need the internet?
Once, to unlock it with the code we email you. After that it checks in now and then and works offline in between.
Is there a manual?
Yes. The full manual explains every control, every preset and the menus, with tips, at https://voxsamples.com/wobbletrouble-wobble-filter-effect-manual. In the plugin, the help key (?) shows what every control does, and every control has a tooltip.

Founder's Story
"When COVID hit, I finally had time to dive into music production—only to discover I was missing the right tools. The plugins I tried were clunky, overloaded with unnecessary features, and killed my vibe with endless tweaking. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, with my engineering background, I started making free and simple audio plugins for my producer friends. They loved them! That’s when I set out on a mission to create plugins that save you time, streamline your workflow, and keep your creativity flowing."
- Ryan Svensson (Founder & CEO)
